An Architect has to consider three aspects to design: the needs of the people, the structural needs of the building and the context in which the building is placed.

He or she has to be aware of the constantly change of the needs.

The basic human needs that the design must fulfill are: human physiological needs, proper human scale, human psychological needs (safety, privacy), and spaces for interaction.

On the other side there are some elements to be consider in dealing with the needs of the building itself, like: protection, resistance (to natural forces), flow, comfort, distribution, etc.

For last the building has to suit the context, taking in consideration culture, environment, connection, economy and flexibility.
